Our Treks
The Kokoda Trail is our most famous trek here in Papua New Guinea. It is steeped in WW11 history and is an emotional and physically challenging walk.
Nikki George our head guide has spent many hours on the track opening up new areas for trekkers to visit pertaining to the Kokoda campaign.
Our bond with the Koiari people along the track is strong.
Our sustainable development projects in the villages are ongoing and are now bringing in income for the villagers.
The Black Cat Track is the next Kokoda. Pam opened up this track in 2003 and along with the Tourism Promotion Authority in PNG they have worked hard over the years to market this track. We have been running ongoing tourism training programs for all the youths along the track, also set up eco tourism projects in the villages. We have also been instrumental in setting up the Black Cat Association for Guides and Porters. 2010 sees the inaugural WW11 History trek along Black Cat coming onto the program. If you have done Kokoda then Black Cat is a must. This track is still so raw and untouched. Now is the time to walk Black Cat.
We are also combining the Black Cat/Bull Dog Tracks and calling it the Coast to Coast. Not for the faint hearted. An extremely physically grueling trek.
For families we have the Traditional Outrigger Safari’s over at Tufi, this has to be one of our best trips we do as far as cultural awareness goes. Your children get the opportunity to integrate with the villagers and not only is it a culturally invigorating experience it is also an amazing learning experience for any age group, but in particular for children and teenagers.
We climb Mt Wilhelm, PNG and Oceania’s highest mountain at 4509 meters, and then have an optional trek down to Madang. One of the most stunningly scenic areas of Papua New Guinea.
Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is our guide’s fun climb of the year. We take the crater route. Like all our expeditions we don’t take the tourist worn track. Have a read, its exciting.
