    PORT MORESBY WEEKENDER – DOE VILLAGE EQUIPMENT LIST

    Saturday – Meet at Yacht Club car park 7am

    From there we will sort out who takes vehicles. Please note you need a 4WD to get into the village where we park.

    We will drive up to village and start trekking by 9:30am latest

    It is an easy 3-4 hour of meandering along the old disused Hubert Murray Highway. Often out in the sun and often under the jungle canopy.

    Day pack (to carry water, rain coat, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, blister packs/elastoplasts, lunch etc)checked!Large pack or soft bag for extra clothes, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, etc. (two people could share a large pack and personal porter)checked!

    Food: Ideas:
    Saturday – Lunch Sandwich, fruit etc
    Saturday – Dinner Canned spag or baked beans. Noodles etc. Anything you like to eat that’s easy to prepare.
    Sunday – Breakfast Cereal, fruit, small milk. Whatever you like for breakfast
    Sunday – lunch Biscuits, cheese, tuna etc

    Coffee/tea/sugar/milk/juice.

    Take some nibbles (nuts etc) for walking.

    You can bring a bottle of wine & nibbles for around the camp fire at night if you like. .
